Habitat

Tammars live in areas where there is dense undergrowth to provide shelter during the day. They come out at dusk, sometimes traveling several kilometers to reach grazing areas, returning before dawn. Much of Kangaroo Island is a patchwork of heath/woodlands and farm paddocks, so wallabies have ready access to grazing lands, and wallaby populations are generally very high.
